What is the best position for a beehive?
Hives should not be placed too close to people so directly outside your back door or right next to the neighbors garden fence is not a great idea! The hive should be placed in a sheltered spot out of the hottest sun but make sure that they get some. You should also try to make sure that they are placed out of the wind but at the same time, can enjoy some air movement. If it is placed around a large shrub or bush, this could help to shelter from the wind but at the same time, could help the bees to fly upwards as they leave the hive therefore avoiding passerbys.
